(Carson City, NV and Boulder, CO) Veltec Sports, the company that markets and distributes some of the finest cycling brands, announced today the expansion of their product offerings to include Prologo, the Italian brand of saddles. Veltec Sports became the exclusive distributor of the complete Prologo line in the US, as of August 1, 2008.
The Prologo brand was introduced in 2006 and has quickly taken the pro peloton by storm throughout Europe and now North America. Based near Milan, Italy, Prologo is known for their innovative Italian design and high quality bike saddles. In addition to making fine road and mountain bike saddles, Prologo also offers a unique line of bar tapes and saddle bags.
Manfred Krikke, Veltec Sports CEO said, “We are very excited about our partnership with Prologo. Prologo has an incredible line of saddles that are an ideal fit in the Veltec product lineup; we as a company are relentlessly focused on providing the best quality products to the cycling market and Prologo is second to none in terms of fit, quality, innovation and technology.”
With some of the best Pro Teams in the world already riding their saddles, (Team CSC Saxo Bank, Team Milram, Team Rabobank, Team AG2R, Team Tinkoff) Prologo has unique access to some of the world’s most demanding athletes for its product development. Fabian Cancellara worked closely with the company to design his custom time-trial saddle which he rode to Olympic gold medal victory in Beijing. In the 2008 Tour de France, Prologo laid claims to the Yellow, White, and Green Jerseys, countless stages, and number one, two and three spots in the overall team rankings.
“We launched our brand two years ago. Prologo is based in Italy, where we have our design center. We draw on an enormous pool of research and technology from the pro riders’ feedback in addition to our own advanced testing facilities. After just two years, we have brought new and innovative saddles into the market, such as the Choice family and the Scratch Nack, and we will continue to do so every year. Our singular objective is to create the best saddles on the market,” said Nicola Vernaglione, Prologo General Manager. ‘Veltec is the perfect fit for our company. They are as passionate as we are about quality and have a lot of experience in providing the best product to the US bicycle enthusiast.’
Prologo will be available at your local independent bicycle dealer. Visit Prologo at Expo Cycle and Interbike this September at the Veltec Sports booth.
