Specialized and Mclaren officially unveiled their new top of the range Venge today in a special press conference at McLaren Headquarters in Woking, England. Just days ahead of the actual race debut of the new frame that will be riden by select members of Team Astana, Saxo-Bank Sunguard, and HTC-Highroad.
The UCI-legal aero road bike Venge, is a new platform for Specialized, and will fill a niche in the Specialized road bike lineup. The Tarmac will still remain the mainstay of the lineup with its combination of stiff and lightness. “The Venge will be a premium option, ideal for certain races and certain racers, based on race-day condition and rider preferences.”
The Venge gave Specialized the perfect opportunity to partner with the legendary team at McLaren. With their thirty years of expertise in composite technology and racing at the highest level of F1. They were able to push the existing boundaries of design and engineering. While the S-Works Venge itself exceeded Specialized’s expectations, the partnership allowed the two companies to further improve upon the Venge. Over the past year, Specialized and Mclaren engineers employed materials, fabrication processes, and exhaustive layup schedules never before used in the cycling world.
The Venge will be available as two models, S-Works and McLaren. Both will be made in Specialized’s production facility in Taiwan.

[ reader very upset that there's not more information about the tech details of this partnership....]
That is a really nice looking S3….wait, ah shoot, I mean Ridley Noah…..no – just a moment it will come to me….
Has road frame engineering peaked?
you mad
wow Adam, who pissed in your hatorade this morning?
Adam, why are you so jaleous???
This is R&D big time technology!!!
adam,
Your ignorance is showing.
marketing ploy? sure… marketing ploy in which im totally suckered into like a lemming as both a cycling and a F1 fan? DEFINITELY.
btw.. still can’t understand the “asia bike haters” out there. this bike is made in taiwan and goss absolutely killed it on that last sprint following cancellara/gilbert after the poggio.
it shares a few curves of some of the other frames on the market, but that’s the industry. It’s still an amazing looking bike. Nice job Specialized. Will we see this in the tour this year? We could sell this with ease. Will it be Di2 friendly?
Pinarello + Campagnolo is the king, no matter you say
).

PS. Don’t be stupid and compare with race performance. In race world they pay riders HUGE amount of money to ride those bikes, so don’t buy cervelo ( LOL
)) ) cause they won a few races, or specialized.
At MTB Specialized is somewhat the king, but wait, there is Nicolai, that monsterkills specialized.
Wow, you gotta meat-a-ballz! Pin and Campy = sexy and pricey. But, truth be told, there are very few if any riders that prefer the actual Pinerello comfort/race performance over a mass produced Specialized. Pinerello are eye catching, but not on par with the R&D behind a “Monster” brand like Specialized….now go tend to your wounds…(Bottom line it is the engine not the rig that makes the wheels spin…I’ve been schooled by painters on huffy’s – HA! HA!)
