Once again, RoadBikeReview and MTBR will be at the San Diego Custom Bicycle Show. We will be taking tons of photos and videos of the great artists and artwork that is hand built bicycles.

The show is twice as big as last year and is already sold out!

The City of San Diego and the California cycling community prepare for the 2010 San Diego Custom Bicycle Show scheduled for April 8th-11th at the Town and Country Resort and Convention Center in the “Golden Pacific Ballroom.” The second-year event has sold out of available display space.

On Thursday April 8 framebuilders and people looking to learn more about the craft and execution of framebuilding can attend a variety of professional seminars. These hands-on clinics are led by industry veterans, like Brian Baylis, Dave Bohm and Rob Roberson (of Joe Bell Bicycle Refinishing).

Doors to the Public Exhibition will open at 10:00 Friday morning and attendees will be treated to hand-built fabrications from some of the most-legendary framebuilders – names like Alberto Masi, Steve Bilenky, Bill Holland, Bruce Gordon, Keith Anderson, and Mark Nobilette (full list of confirmed exhibitors attached below). A variety of building materials and fabrication techniques will be on display including lugged, filleted, and TIG-welded steel, titanium, aluminum, and carbon. A national event, the San Diego Custom Bicycle Show will feature builders from the East Coast, Pacific Northwest, Rocky Mountains, South West, and all up and down California. Other companies getting involved include Campagnolo, Speedplay, and Mel Pinto Imports to bring the ratio of framebuilders to industry suppliers to 2:1.

The San Diego Custom Bicycle Show was originally conceived as way to showcase the work of small independent builders. The show has grown to include slightly larger builders, but each frame is still custom made for each buyer.
