When should your hands be on the handlebar hoods? What’s the right time to grab the drops? And how about the tops? Hand positioning on your handlebars might seem straightforward and simple (and for many people it is). But if you have questions as to where you hands should be – and when they should be there — this video is a great instructional primer.
After watching, head out on a ride and put these methods into practice. See if you notice a difference in sprinting speed between the hoods and the drops. Assess whether breathing becomes easier while in the tops. And do some out-of-the saddle climbing in the hoods. We bet you’ll notice the difference.
