U.S. cyclocross champion Katie Compton proved to be in top form during her November trip to Europe taking victories in World Cup and Super Prestige events on her ROL Wheels.

Compton used her ROL CX38 wheels for victory in the World Cup at Pijnacker, Netherlands, November 11 over 2nd place Daphne van den Brand of Holland. A week later in Gavere, Belgium, Compton put 2:46 on 2nd place Maryline Salvetat of France. In both races Compton dominated by using her strength to open gaps from the start that built over the following laps. In neither race was Compton under pressure from other racers.

Compton provided this personal review of the ROL CX38 wheels:
“The CX38′s have been getting a very hard life over here including some really hard slams on the rim from the low tire pressures we need to run. I have the spoke wrench with me but it looks like this will be the first time that I’ve gone through a season without needing to true a wheel. I’m really impressed by the feel of the carbon wheels under the conditions that we experience here in Belgium and Holland. The rims are noticeably stronger than the soft Asian import rims. You can see the technology is far superior and the rim design works better for cyclocross tires than the Asian imports.”

Sean Lambert, President of ROL Wheels, offered this assessment, “Katie’s real world test of the CX38 wheels only reinforces what our lab tests showed, these wheels are the best combination of materials, from our own 6 pawl freehubs to the ROL-Edge Composites carbon rim tied together with Sapim CX-Ray spokes.”

Look for Compton to continue her impressive build toward defending her 4th National Championships in Kansas City in mid-December followed by a return to Europe for additional racing and preparation for the World Championships in Treviso Italy in late January.
