Giordana to provide performance and race-driven technical apparel for 13-rider squad
PARK CITY, Utah — Performance and style. These two words – among others – aptly describe the new Competitive Cyclist Racing Team’s kit for the 2012 racing season. Today, the Team unveils their official Giordana kits that Team riders will debut at their upcoming training camp in Tucson, Ariz. in February.
Throughout the 2012 season, the Team will sport Giordana’s top-of-the-line jerseys and bib shorts for training and racing. Engineered with performance and comfort in mind, the kit features ultra-light fabrics, ergonomic construction and the use of carbon to assist in reducing electrical interference around internal organs.
The Team will wear Giordana’s FR-C and Alta Gamma short-sleeve jerseys. With a snug, second-skin-like fit, the flagship FR-C jersey features super-light and soft Asteria™ fabric that utilizes a honeycomb knit which allows for omnidirectional stretch for optimal fit. Offering a seamless feel with maximum breathability, the jersey has carbon woven throughout for strength, versatility and reduction of electrical interference around internal organs. The jersey also features pockets and reflective elements for added visibility.
The Giordana Alta Gamma jersey features Michron™ material on the front and side panels and Host Carbon™ on the back panel that offers stability and two-directional stretch. Ultra-light Asteria™ is used on the shoulders and micromesh under the arms for ventilation.
The Competitive Cyclist Racing Team will use the Giordana FR-C bib shorts. The bibs feature HC-44™ high compression fabric for precise fit, performance and comfort. A second fabric, Ametista, has carbon woven into it. The FR-C bibs also have Giordana’s newest Cirro OmniForm™ insert that elegantly contours to the body in motion and returns to its original shape ride after ride.
“When creating category-leading race gear, Giordana has done an impeccable job in focusing on the riders needs throughout their entire line while incorporating beneficial materials for serious comfort on the pavement,” said Brendan Quirk, GM of Competitive Cyclist. “Add in the creative and stylish job our team has done on customizing the 2012 kit and you get a fast-looking squad ready to compete.”
Giordana will also outfit the Team with socks, gloves, vests, rain jackets, leg and arm warmers, long-sleeve jerseys and skinsuits.
