Undeniable Heritage | Unrelenting Innovation

The 2009 Cento Uno
At the Tour de France, riders are often on bikes we may not see as commercially available production models until later in the summer, or as late as the fall, when the coming season’s models are unveiled. Wilier Triestina has broken the mold – again – something we’ve been doing at Le Tour for decades. This production year has possibly been our most audacious to date. Earlier this summer, we introduced 2009 running changes to team Lampre’s thoroughbred race steed, the Le Roi, and last month released a completely new 2009 model which will certainly get billing as one of the world’s new superbikes, the Cento Uno. Check out our new dedicated website at http://www.cento1.it.
Another exciting development is team Lampre’s expanded use of the Cento Crono, designed by internationally renowned aerodynamics and biomechanics expert, John Cobb. The Cento Crono takes aero frame design a leap forward with the implementation of airflow management features that tame wind turbulence, directing air through and around rider limbs, frame triangles and spinning wheels for better efficiency and faster speeds.

The Cento Crono
That means that team Lampre is now benefitting from the use of four top-end race machines with the most sophisticated carbon materials and most advanced engineering in the industry: 1) The new Cento Uno, which took Marzio Bruseghin to a stage win at the Giro d’Italia 2) Damiano Cunego’s signature bike, the Cento, which carried him to an Amstel Gold Classics victory 3) The new Le Roi which delivered Alessandro Ballan to the final 3-up sprint at Paris-Roubaix 4) Wilier and John Cobb’s no-holds-barred Cento Crono, which Bruseghin rode to a podium finish at the Giro.
The Cento
Ballan, Cunego, Bruseghin and the rest of team Lampre are currently rocking these bikes at the Tour, and all four are currently available, though quantities are limited on the brand-new Cento Uno. About Wilier Triestina USA
Wilier Triestina USA was founded in 2007 as a partnership between Wilier Triestina of Rossano Veneto (near Bassano del Grappa), Italy, and their North American importer, Velo Imports. Like a true Italian business, “Wilier USA” is owned and run by father and son, Angelo and Gianmarco Cilli, themselves Italians. Over the past nine years, Angelo and Gianmarco have sought out and established relationships with elite bicycle retail stores, which have become authorized Wilier dealers. Most years, the Cillis and staff accompany many of their dealers on a trip to Italy for a tour of the Wilier Triestina offices and factory in Rossano, as well as some of the most scenic riding terrain in the world, including many famed Giro climbs. All of us at Wilier Triestina are dedicated to engineering, manufacturing and bringing you the best bikes that Italy and the world have to offer.
