(AP) — Alessandro Petacchi of Italy won his second straight stage Monday to take the overall lead in the Giro d’Italia.
Petacchi covered the 198-kilometer (123-mile) third stage from Grado to Valdobbiadene at the footsteps of the Dolomite Range in 4 hours, 45 minutes, 27 seconds to take the overall leader’s pink jersey from Mark Cavendish of Britain.
