Cyclists across the Rockies converge on Copper Mountain for two of the most prestigious road cycling events of the season.
Copper Mountain, CO, September 12-13, 2009: Racers, spectators and enthusiasts alike are preparing to converge on Copper Mountain, CO the weekend of September 12-13 for what promises to be one of the best weekend’s on cycling on Colorado’s road racing calendar.
- Saturday sees racing through the village all day and into the night with “Copper Twilight Crits,” 2009 American Cycling Association (ACA) Criterium Finals.
- On Sunday riders will contest “The Copper Mountain Time Trial” from The Burning Stones Plaza to Vail Pass, an event that serves as USA Cycling state championships.
- On both days of the weekend enthusiasts will be treated to “The Copper Mountain Rec Path Poker Ride,” a non-competitive fun ride where participants can turn in ‘winning hands’ to earn season passes at Copper Mountain/Winter Park, weekend stays at Copper Mountain, lift tickets and tons of merchandise from sponsors Giro, Kuhl and Marmot.
