Sport Beans Jelly Beans Go Natural at Interbike

New Formula, New Easier Open Packets

Fairfield, California - Sport Beans® jelly beans, introduced by Jelly Belly Candy Company and the world’s first sports performance jelly beans, are now made with all natural formula. Sport Beans are flavored with natural flavors from fruit juices, use colors derived from natural sources and are naturally sweetened with evaporated cane juice and are free of corn syrup. Interbike attendees will be able to taste the new Sport Beans at the company’s booth at Interbike September 23-25.

The popularity of the Sport Beans jelly beans among cyclists, triathletes, marathon runners and fitness buffs prompted the company to update the Sport Beans jelly beans line with new flavor and color profiles, plus new carb sources. Sport Beans are now made with tapioca syrup and evaporated cane juice replacing corn syrup and sugar.

The four refreshing flavors of Lemon Lime, Orange, Berry and Fruit Punch - formulated to energize the body during exercise - are made with lemon, lime, orange, raspberry, apple and grape juices.

Extreme Sport Beans, a caffeinated variety, available in watermelon and cherry flavors, made with real watermelon and cherry juices.

In addition the company is introducing a new easy-open bag with a resealable zipper. The improved bag makes it easier to dispense the Sport Beans while running, biking, hiking and climbing.

During Interbike Team Jelly Belly pro riders will make appearances at the booth and sign posters. Brad Huff, Will Routley, Matty Rice, and team director Danny Van Haute will be at the booth Wednesday 10 am - 5 pm, Thursday 11 am to 2 pm and Friday 10 am to 3 pm during Interbike. The first 50 people in line each day will receive Team Jelly Belly water bottles or T-shirts.

Scientifically formulated for sports performance, Sport Beans jelly beans provides carbohydrates for energy, electrolytes to maintain fluid balance and vitamins to help burn carbs and fat and protect muscles against oxidative damage.

Each of the six flavors of Sport Beans is packaged in 100-calorie single serving packets for portable power before, during and after exercise. The variety provided by six flavors allows athletes to select a favorite or to enjoy the range, escaping taste monotony.

Double Down at Mandalay Bay Special Prize Recognizes Consistency at CrossVegas and The USA CRITS Finals

Boulder, Colo - With two of America’s top cycling events planned during Interbike week in Las Vegas, it’s a perfect opportunity to recognize riders who can excel in both cyclocross and criterium racing. Double Down at the Mandalay Bay is designed to do just that.

Double Down at Mandalay Bay recognizes those riders with a vacation prize to the top men and women riders who compete in both CrossVegas scheduled September 23rd and the USA CRITS Finals scheduled September 24th.

“The Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino is proud to be a part of the two largest cycling events to hit Las Vegas,” stated Scott Voeller Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino VP of Marketing. “We think the Double Down prize is a great way to reward the athletes who are consistent at both CrossVegas and The USA Crits Finals.”

In 2008 the Double Down at Mandalay Bay was captured by Adam Meyerson in the men’s category and Katie Compton in the women’s category. The two racers combined strong finishes in both CrossVegas and the USA CRITS Final to take the vacation packages.

2010 Jamis Xenith Spied at Sea Otter, more to come at Interbike!

Back in April while we were down at the 2009 Sea Otter Classic, we spied a new 2010 Jamis Xenith. It would have gone unnoticed to most, even us to be completely honest, due to it’s 2009 Team Colavita paint job. This prototype was there to be tested and riden for feedback. We weren’t able to get all the details on this 2010 Xenith, but we were able to wrangle a few tidbits out of our anonymous informant. Apparently the new frame is going to be one of the cleanest finished carbon frames to come to market. Meaning Jamis has been able to produce a frame with virtually no wrinkles or excess resin in critical areas of this Xenith. It’s a completely new system, using a proprietary bladder system that’s said to be exclusive to Jamis at the moment.

We’ll be able to get the full low down on this and all of Jamis’s 2010 lineup at the upcoming Interbike show in late September. Videos, photos, interviews, and virtual booths are just some of the exciting things we have planned to cover the show. So check back regularly for press releases and announcements from now til show time, September 21-25, 2009.

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. - Interbike, producers of North America’s largest bicycle industry trade shows, today announced preliminary exhibitor and event information for its inaugural OutDoor Demo East, to be held at the Roger Williams Park in Providence, R.I.

Presented by SRAM Corporation and Jamis Bicycles, the October 21-22, 2008 Interbike OutDoor Demo East event currently has 40-plus key bicycle and accessory manufacturers scheduled to exhibit, representing close to 19,000 net-sold, square-feet of exhibit space. The exhibitor numbers are expected to grow as manufacturers continue to submit exhibiting contracts.

“This year’s OutDoor Demo East will be the first Interbike product testing event specifically serving east coast retailers,” said Andy Tompkins, Interbike’s show director. “The support the industry is giving in terms of the variety and depth of exhibitors, the special seminars, supporting events, and sponsorship is great. OutDoor Demo East will provide retailers and the media an opportunity to test new products, educate staff on new trends, and network with industry members all with a minimal amount of travel to get to the event.”

Interbike International Bicycle Expo and OutDoor Demo to Remain in Las Vegas

Host city research and industry feedback confirms Las Vegas is the best return on investment for exhibitors and attendees of North America’s
largest cycling trade show

Interbike International Bicycle Expo and OutDoor Demo to Remain in Las Vegas

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. - After two years of collecting potential host city data and retailer, manufacturer and industry partner feedback, Interbike management today announced the trade show will remain in Las Vegas, and that they are currently finalizing an agreement with the Sands Expo and Convention Center to host the industry’s show for a minimum of three more years, beginning with the 2010 show.

“The decision to keep the Interbike show in Vegas comes after years of research and communication with our retailer attendees, exhibiting manufacturers and important industry partners,” said Lance Camisasca, Interbike’s industry consultant. “The data and communication we have collected, along with industry recommendations from organizations like the National Bicycle Dealers Association (NBDA) and Bikes Belong, confirm our decision to keep the show in Las Vegas.”

Keeping Las Vegas as the host city for the Interbike trade show came into question two years ago in preparation to renew the show’s contract with the Sands Convention Center, which expires with the 2009 show. Among other things, members of the industry were interested in seeing the show support a more cycling-friendly city, while maintaining the best return on investment for exhibitors and retail buyers.
