Kansas City, MO - Georgia Gould finished her 2007 campaign with a well-deserved third-place at the U.S. National Cyclo-Cross Championships in frozen, rutted conditions in Kansas City’s Wyandotte Country Park.
This race concludes a breakthrough season for Gould that began in early March at the 2007 Pan American Mountain Bike Continental Championships in Neuquén, Argentina (…she won). She then went on to win the Sea Otter Classic, every NORBA National cross-country race
and the USGP of cyclo-cross. For the majority of 2007, Georgia held the UCI world number one ranking as an individual athlete, and was instrumental in propelling the LUNA Pro team to the top of the UCI world team rankings, where it remains today.
Gould will now be taking some time off as she prepares for 2008 and with any luck, a spot on the U.S. Team for the Beijing Olympics.
Big News for 2008 - The LUNA Pro Team has some great news about the program for 2008. Stay tuned for an announcement sometime this week.
Next - The next official LUNA Pro Team gathering will be at our annual photo camp and 2008 team orientation March 24-26, in the San Francisco Bay Area.
