Bicycle Divas - Get a Sneak Preview of the New Specialized Concept Store in Palos Verdes Peninsula

November 19th, 2008 by thien

Bicycling has become a major adult sport over the past 20 years. However, the men are having most of the fun. PV Bicycle Center is opening a new store with the goal of attracting more women to the sport. The networking begins November 21 at 7:30 pm

Specialized Bicycle Company is sending its Designs for Women demo team to offer a clinic on cycling from the woman’s point of view. Diva Night will take place at the brand new PV Bicycle Center store in Rolling Hills Estates. There will be plenty of opportunity for those who attend to establish new friendships and set up future meetings, rides, or events. Refreshments will be served. Pro cyclist Anna Lang from Aaron’s Pro Women’s Cycling Team will lead road rides Saturday and Sunday morning, and the women’s demo trailer will also be available from Friday through Sunday for test rides on the full line of Specialized women’s bikes.

PV Bicycle Center Steve Bowen has a goal: “We want the women of the South Bay to get in on the fun. Our new store has been created with a clear intention of creating a community of riders who will get together for exercise and fun in the phenomenal Palos Verdes area. What better place in the world to gather with friends for an outing on bikes?”

The store features the latest in women’s cycling clothing. Bowen points out: “In addition to pure bicycle clothing, there is a trend toward dual use clothing that works to provide comfortable and utilitarian apparel for riding that will look great after the ride at Starbucks.”

Diva night starts at 7:00 Friday the 21st at the new location in the Peninsula Shopping Center at the corner of Hawthorne Blvd and Silver Spur.

This will be just one of the numerous events planned for this weekend with road and off road rides on Saturday and Sunday, plus supplier exhibits, and at least 6 new bicycles given away in games and raffles. See details at the PV Bicycle Center Web Site, http://www.PVBike.com.
